07.20.2011 – The first “un-official” Toy Shoot Meet-up was held earlier today at the Ayala Triangle Gardens as a request by the staff of ABS-CBN’s morning show Umagang Kay Ganda. It was a very impromptu gathering that was announced a few days earlier. Umagang Kay Ganda is a morning show aired on ABS-CBN channel 2 in the Philippines, and selected TV shows like this one is being aired internationally through their TFC (The Filipino Channel) network. |
At first we thought this was a taping for the episode for tomorrow. Turns out this were a Pre-VTR shoot to be used for Thursday’s featured segment.
Originally the “Toy Photography” group was intended for personal consumption between to two friends who has been into this hobby long before the Facebook group page was made in November 2009. If you look back it’s a group that was formed in 2007 for personal interest not openly for public until its group page was made.
So why is this “un-official” Toy Shoot Meet-up? There were no plans for a gathering until someone contacted us who would like to feature the hobby for the ABS-CBN show. Previously due to a number of requests for a first gathering of toy shooters this was never intended to happen.
The Toy Photography group on Facebook has become a community of sorts and interest had started to spread across online. The “un-official” Toy Shoot Meet-up was greeted by the marketing heads of Ayala Land Corporation who manages the privately owned Ayala Triangle Gardens located at the heart of the Business District of Makati. The former Neilson Airport from the 1930s was turned into a part of what we know as Ayala Avenue and the park was part of it.
The Ayala Triangle Gardens has been open to the public since 2009. A cool place to hang out and de-stress which is the perfect place to held the Toy Shoot Meet-up.
Though as much possible even if the marketing heads allowed the group to do their toy shoots as a measure of security we have to get permission by applying a permit. This was also applied to the TV crew of ABS-CBN who shot the pre-VTR. But for future reference even if they have verbally agreed for the group to organize our meet-up we still have the obligation to get that permit. Just to be responsible and be as an organized group of hobbyist we still have to follow certain procedures.
This is also for the safety of each member of the group why we still have to obtain a permit for the group just to be a good example why we follow the regulation as the way we do with our in-house guidelines in submitting our daily submission on the Facebook group.
The “Official” Toy Shoot Meet-up is set on two dates for those who would be interested. Please do standby for future announcements. For now catch the members of Toy Photography tomorrow live on ABS-CBN’s Umgang Kay Ganda in the mornings which airs at 5:30 to 8AM.
Special acknowledgments to Ayala Land Corporation for allowing the Toy Photography Group the permission to do our toy shoots within the vicinity of Ayala Triangle Gardens.
