The month of April 2020 brings a new perspective in Toy Photography every post from the community that’s both refreshingly new and inspiring to find different ideas that make this interest continue to be relevant and refreshing.
There were so many things that happened in the month of March that defined not just what everyone has gone through. But the whole planet is experiencing that is quite intense for those who are used to going out and spending time with everyone.
Valentine’s Day is the season of adoration and for most it is the day people appreciate the love especially on the fourteenth of the month. Toy Photography themes usually include this as a challenge to create their reinterpretation for the month that shows affection in the best possible way and it is interesting how those who have the grasp in bringing toys to life gives you this bit of perspective.
When you try to capture an image using toys as subjects in a backdrop of world unknown to some it means you are putting together something from your imagination. Toy Photography is no longer just taking your favorite action figure and re-enacting that particular scene from your childhood it is now another medium to tell a story.
It is rare that the community organize a monthly theme it has been quite a while that there’s one that everyone would actually participate. For this One-Day theme challenge is inspired from the Toy Photographer’s community very own challenge for the month of February taking a leap with the theme and jumping into it.
G.I. Joe is an iconic toy brand that originated in 1964 but what made them more relevant was back in 1982 when they re-branded the toyline into 3.75 inches tall or 1/18 scale that expands to feature vehicles and playsets that to this day has become so iconic the vintage toys released in that era carry more childhood stories than its current high priced secondary market value.
When you start with Toy Photography the first thing you’ll be excited about is the toys you’re going to produce into your composition without context of story it’s just your action figures, diecast cars, or your designer art toy doing nothing.
There are not great photos but good stories that define the narrative, which is subjective to those who would understand a “One-Picture Narrative” that takes the challenge more interesting because you don’t need no captions or description just a photo that simply tell the story from the viewer’s perspective.

| Halloween is a seasonal event where everyone does their ‘Trick or Treat’ and sometimes catch a new Horror film that coincides the right timing of its release for the season. And then there’s Toy Photography where everyone put together their composition that define what is this season meant to them. |
| The Joker is as iconic villain as the hero in Batman and with the movie making a hit at the box office there’s no doubt this character is going to be popular.
