Toy Shooter | Rizal Undergrounds

There are Toy Photographers, who captures the best moments using characters in their traditional setting. There are others who capture it in invoking their emotions up close and then there’s Rizal Undergrounds who is a multi-faceted mysterios individual that you can all an artist in his own craft when you talk about Toy Photography.

He's been lurking in the community not your average toy shooter as the man likes to be behind the scenes and rarely acknowledged for doing things his way. Influenced by music namely hip hop and a world view with regarding to reality he definitely Bringing Toys to Life™


Rial Undergrounds would be considered one of the founding members of the Toy Photography community since the group’s ‘unofficial’ formation in 2009. He’s the silent type that let his works do the talking without gravitas or the flamboyance of a YouTube personality. His cool creativity invokes not only his personality, but his sense of humor that makes most of compositions takes its own personality.



It’s like all of his toys exist in a singular universe even though they’re from different toy brands or even varies in scale. But most of his subjects are in 1:18 scale namely G.I. Joes and Star Wars characters that he composes in breaking out from their traditional characteristics, which make his works unique but in the bigger community is underrated and rarely taken notice.

Below here are some of his works that can now be found in his Instagram account @RizalUndergrounds, which is getting much like for their simplicity, tongue and cheek humour and invoking his passion for the hip hop.













Most of his composition have very minimal to none photo editing, but you can see how he uses practical effect and color filters to bring the emotion on each of his composition. The settings of his photos are like a graffiti artists’ work that has the urban feel of a Street Art. Some of the venues where his toys exist are in the jungles as he lives in the city of Rizal that still have an existing rainforest.

Besides Star Wars and G.I. Joe he has used LEGO minifigures that tell the humor side of his characters. Downright country bumpkin this Street Artist is certainly shares his passion for Toy Photography that defines him up there with the well known toy shooters that needs recognition for his contribution that you can definitely using the element of “#1ShotStory” and how he is “Bringing Toys to Life™” in his brand of Toy Photography.
