#1SHOTHALLOWEEN | 8 Best Scares for 2019

Halloween is a seasonal event where everyone does their ‘Trick or Treat’ and sometimes catch a new Horror film that coincides the right timing of its release for the season. And then there’s Toy Photography where everyone put together their composition that define what is this season meant to them.

In 2017 there was a special #1ShotHalloween selection for those who produced their composition in paying tribute for the season. There was none organized for 2018 and for this year there was a month long theme that was set for October 2019.

This year there were lots of good images that were curated from the posts by the hardworking passionate toy shooters. Even at the last minute of the month there were more images that came up until the closing time.

But only the best composition were chosen and to be fair for those that got featured in the Joker Tribute and the selection for October 2019 this list gets rarely get the spotlight. This was arguably a shorter list that was impressive enough to make it and kudos for those who made it below:

Chad Lanham
Jerry Rodriguez
Edwin Gonzalez
Kurtis Hoyle
Saravanan Kumar
Jorge Tamayo
Alan Lilley
Eric Bueno

Chad Lanham has perfectly captured this image with impressive lighting and how it was rendered to be something from “Nightmare before Christmas,” although it’s only taken in the month of October 2019 there’s something gloriously eerie about it and it really is impressively well done.

While Jerry Rodriguez is known for emotional visuals of random action figures dealing with loneliness and other things everyday human faces. There’s no doubt when it comes to surreal visuals like the Ghost Rider’s flaming head against the fiery backdrop is surely will turn a lot of heads.

Ghostbusters are always depicted busting some ectoplasmic entity, but never in a context of what is a horror film. Edwin Gonzalez merges that ghoulish comedy with serious horror sensibilities that depicts Egon Spengler’s reflection of Freddy Krueger will certainly send chills of amazement for this composition.

Kurtis Hoyle is new to the community and yet he shares something that stood out among his contemporaries with a simple image of Jack Skellington basking under the Halloween night in celebration of the months is as subtle you’ll get at the same time reminds you how good is this character being portrayed in this image.

When you talk about Transformers the longtime contributor for this community is Saravanan Kumar, this guy deserves a spotlight. He now bends the tradition incorporating his perspective of how he celebrates Halloween using Transformers characters and Bumblebee is the subject here. Sometimes it doesn’t work but this one has humorous levels that mix with the haunting vibe that gets featured here.

There are so many images that Jorge Tamayo has shared featuring a Halloween themed composition and it is challenging to pick the best one. Jorge is one of the most consistent Toy Photographers in this community that just keep on sharing without expecting anything. Well, for this one he just makes the list with this treat.

Pumpkin Heads featured in a composition is an element that says its “Halloween Season” time and novice toy shooter Alan Lilley shares his impressive work to date with the headless horseman smiling for this ghastly glorious image.

Lastly, there’s nothing like LEGO Minifigures heading for a Trick or Treat around the neighbourhood. Erick Bueno’s done some awesome photos and rarely featured LEGO Minifigures, but this one is timely enough that some of the characters from the Collectible Minifigure Series 14 get to have their adventures in the urban dark streets of his hometown of Rizal.

Another enjoyable Halloween theme that closes the month of October 2019 that was supposed to be part were the Joker was included in the list. But thjat theme came to its own at last minute with so much images of the Clown. For this Halloween theme there was a lot more imagery that defines this season.

We can’t promise to have this an annual season to remember, but 2020 is just around the corner and for those who keep supporting and sharing their compositions get ready for Halloween.

For now, this is going to be a wrap and enjoy some sweets for your treats.
