Four Panel Narrative | Lando 45 by SMU Toys

There are many ways to tell a story through Toy Photography and each concept works. While the idea of a ‘One-Shot Story’ narrative is what made the idea as a popular concept it doesn’t stop from this concept. However, there have been other experiments in the past and one of them was done by SMU Toys in 2005/2006!

Credit goes to Toy Photographers community for making the Six Image Narrative as their trademark to storytelling. But before the concept of Toy Photography became the ‘norm’ co-founder SMU Toys formerly Diesel Boy aka Mach Diesel has been into Toy Photography dating back to 2005 and had so many ideas from ‘One-Shot Story’ concept to a comic-book style Four-Panel Narrative.

Recently on his Instagram he just shared one of his old Four-Panel Narrative, which was a Star Wars themed comicbook featuring some Classic Action Figures from Power of the Force toyline, which are only five points of articulation.

It was originally posted at his old MySpace social media page dating back to his Diesel Boy moniker when he used to be from San Diego, California. The humor is still memorable as his personality did not age, but still one of the memorable Four-Panel Narratives that will certainly crack you up, no pun intended…

Simple narrative in these images seemed out-dated but it still catches fire with its tried concept. If you have heard of Mach Diesel the way he speaks in person you’ll even get the humor immediately as back in the days there was enough laughs when putting together some of these 4 Panel Narratives that until to this day still has a kick to it.

This was also originally pulished as a Youtube Clip on 15 March 2009 below:

Of Course, if you can’t access the Instagram embedded in this post you can also read the full narrative included in this article…

So what’s with the revival of this idea? Well, there have been some members of the community that wants to share their own stories with multiple images that is constrained by the ‘One-Shot Story’ concept and maybe it is time to expand this idea.

If you have a good story to share within the Four-Panel Narrative submit your entry not at the Facebook Page or if you’re part of the group, but SEND IT THROUGH the Private Message and tell a brief description what made you put this together and we’ll try to feature it here.

For now, if you want to know more about Mach Diesel’s adventures and other things besides toy-related follow SMU Toys via social media on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Don’t forget to subscribe via YouTube too!
