Toy Photos in Film | Welcome to Marwen

Welcome to Marwen is an upcoming film based on the true story of Mark Hogancamp, who was beaten by five guys nearly to death and ended in a coma. This was produced into a documentary, which was released in 2010.

The movie of course, is a fictionalized story about Hogancamp going through therapy with his Toy Photography building his own world called “Marwen,” which stars Steve Carell in the lead role and directed by Robert Zemeckis.



A few days earlier one of the community members of the Toy Photography group about the movie “Welcome to Marwen,” which shows its first official trailer of the film featuring Steve Carell as a Toy Photographer capturing images of his 12 inch action figures and dolls. After seeing this trailer a research to find out the actual story of this film reveal that it was based on the life of Mark Hogancamp.



Hogancamp did not have any past experience as a photographer, but since doesn’t have any money to go through therapy after a brutal accident by being beaten up by five guys he went through an ordeal in dealing with his trauma by creating a fictional town called “Marwencol.”



In the film it was shorten and titled as “Welcome to Marwen” and if you haven’t seen the trailer you’ll get an idea why everyone from the community got the attention of this film…



“Welcome to Marwen” with Carell as Hogancamp in the lead also features Leslie Mann, Diane Kruger, Merritt Wever, Janelle Monáe, Eiza González, Gwendoline Christie, Leslie Zemeckis, and Neil Jackson. The film is set to be released on November 21, 2018 from Universal Pictures.
