Best TEN Picks | August 2019

Sometimes the most that interest you about Toy Photography may not be the stories that surrounds the composition it’s just basically having fun with photography and adding some whimsical spin on the toys that you appreciate. There’s no way of defining what a Toy Photography is really but these people really knows how to define fun in making them for August 2019.

As ‘Ber’ months start with the last quarter of 2019 in some countries it is about the start of spring time and somewhere on the other side fall is about to begin. For Asian countries the weather is unpredictable much as the ideas people in the community share about their passion with taking photos of their toys.

There is that random idea that get thrown in and people either appreciate it or just simply like the thought that someone from another country is having a good time, which inspires some from this side of the world.

The global community is growing and everyone inspires the other is a positive effect on how Toy Photography has been translated all over the world interpreted in their own perspective at the same time giving others ideas to create their own fiction. And then there are some who just appreciate doing random things that you thought there’s a story behind it but turns out to be just a snap while in the middle of something else.

For August 2019 there was mix of ideas here and there with new faces joining this tiny community from parts unknown that just wants to share their ideas and style. The Best Ten Picks from last months has some interesting inspirations that are tried and tested and continues to be a force to be remembered and here they are…

Sam Patrick Fontanilla has been in the group for almost a decade now and below the radar he just enjoy doing toy shoots either indoor or outdoor diorama. Sometimes it reflects the realities of recent news that he puts this out with regard to Spider-Man.

Jared Warner joins the community with something different and reminds everyone about the atrocities of war and this Black & White image certainly sends a chilling thought of dark times during that era.

Dario Pineda shares his entry with Gndalf the White trying to tame his stead as this indoor shot is quite an interesting creative fiction of the famous character from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings series that will soon jump into stream television soon.

Vincent Faelnar has affinity to tell his stories through his LEGO minifigures and the tiny adventures may fool you. But the idea of how big the world is in this tiny little plastic must be a fun shoot for him to give you visual stories he’s trying to convey.

Roberto Flames has carved himself in the community with his unique style and challenging shots that really stand out. When he joined the community this was his first post and like the famous ones on social media who has their own photography style Roberto’s work stood out immediately with Link from the Zelda games.

Eric Groot has been around and little noticed, but when his works get the attention it is something unique not using well-known characters. Dinosaurs are good subjects just ask Paul Carter who was featured before. This one looks like a Macro Dino that’s in the hunt for food.

Casey Stern has this entry with a forced perspective and rarely there’s anyone who attempts this execution simply other than this featuring a classic Hoy Wheels diecast car as noticeable with the wheels and the detailed accessories that came with it. Superb!

Jaytee Jimenez submission for a Funko Pop featuring Miguel from 2017’s Coco. Now, Funko Pop figures are challenging to be used as a subject for Toy Photography. It depends on the character and execution or sometimes it’s just timing that Jaytee must have found a good spot for this character that made it to this month’s list.

Todd Parker must be another Pokemon fan in the community and he does use some unique figures you may not find on retail like this one. The right lighting and set up complimented with a good weather if this was taken outdoors must be fun.

Paul Summers subject is mostly using characters from horror films and the set up diorama scene has improved whenever he posts his favourite toys in some scenes. But the Scooby Gang certainly caught on with everyone as always the most familiar scene when they are depicted in a graveyard. Great Work!

That covers all the Ten Best Pick and September 2019 is finally here although there is no theme for this month. Last month’s “Cheap Toy” will be updated soon, For now enjoy the photos and don’t forget to keep shooting.

Of course, never forget to have fun with your toys while you’re at it. You can never know you might come up with an idea that everyone would like to see until next month then!
