But for those who are into know in popular culture the National Superheroes Day is observed on 28 April 2020 and it is on the twenty fifth year to celebrate it!

The National Superhero Day came about dating back to 28 April 1995 by Marvel employees created this special day to celebrate everyone's favorite superhero. This is for superheroes only — we all know villains aren't deserving of their own day.

Still, the idea behind superhero day is to honor those who serve and protect while fighting evil. This special event takes a different perspective about some of the familiar heroes from the US comicbooks, but also some familiar faces from Japan too.

For this special National Superhero Day the shortlist will feature five images contributed by the best in this community defining these characters in a different light despite the current world view this planet is experiencing due to the pandemic. There will be five images featuring iconic characters out of their normal environment.

The main theme for this year’s National Superhero Day is about these characters in their downtime and at the same time dealing with isolation that you browse below:

When Spider-Man is not swinging down in the streets if New York to stop a robbery or facing one of his villains in his rogue galleries he takes a downtime in the skate park as the sun sets capturing this image by Marc Steffes in his colorful composition.

John Young rarely share any latest image in the community, but when he does it’s a tongue and cheek humor that just flies under the group’s radar at the same time give you a look on Ant-Man’s daily routine aside from exploring other quantum realms.

Squirrel Girl sounds like an odd character from Marvel, but there’s something special with this character if you haven’t read the graphic novel. For those who only acquired her figure without knowing the character you’re in for a surprise just like this composition by B. David Delene.

Rafal Olejko takes Wonder Woman an iconic character into the world where not everyone is familiar with the setting this Amazon Princess is not used to being seen in this situation certainly gives you this perspective that made it to this list.

Lastly, Ultraman by Mark Neal adds diversity of heroe4s not only from American culture, but also includes a popular character from Japan. Neal’s take on the character being gentle with creatures like a butterfly as a stand-in for Mothra from Godzilla is certainly an original composition deserving of being part of the selection.

There you have it all five images that defines a different take on the characters not in action like saving a hapless victim or fighting a bad guy paying tribute for this year’s National Superhero Day.
